ReefLight LED?

I found this while searching on CL for other fish stuff.

I have tek elites that I have yet to open, waiting on the rest of the equipment for set up.

http://www.reeflight.com/led-aquariu...g-products.asp

They say they use 3W Cree bulbs. They fixtures look kinda small?? Maybe need 2 over a 75g??

Just curious if anyone have any experience with them?? or any thoughts?

I used the search but nothing came up, so I apologize if this has been answered before.

If I am looking at the same thing you're looking at, they use Epistar 3W emitters. I am not familiar with the company, but they are certainly not CREE.

If you ready further down, they say they use Epistar AND Bridgelux LED's. Right there that would make me nervous, because I wouldn't know exactly what LED emitters I would be getting. For what it's worth, Bridgelux 3W LED emitters cost less than half as much as high end CREE emitters. LOL and as I read even FURTHER down they talk about CREE XR-E emitters. Nowhere do they specifically mention how many LED's of what type are in each unit. I would not consider buying unless they tell you specifically what LED's would be in your fixture.

The spread seems thin to me. Their 48" fixture has 33 3W emitters (of questionable manufacture). Compare that to a Vertex fixture that has 128 3W emitters over the same distance - all CREE current technology. So you are basically getting 4x as much light (if not more) with the Vertex over this unit. Of course the Vertex costs a LOT more
