magnesium help
Hello everyone.
My goal: To be able to get my fish tank down to a science where I know how much calcium and magnesium needs to be added weekly. I know you can't add them at the same time so one night would be Mg and then the next would be Ca. I just tested my water using a salifert magnesium test kid and I have figured out my magnesium is at 1200ppm right now. I have the magnesion product by brightwell and I want to add it to my tank. I suppose the most I can add is 60 mL of this product and then test again tomorrow, correct? Please advise me on how I can figure out how much product I need to be adding to my tank because quite frankly this dosing thing scares the crap out of me. hmm I wonder if Kalk in the ATO is for me....

u wanna get mg up to 1250 to 1350. mg can be added with Ca its Ca and Carbonate you don't want to add at the same time. dont test mg for 24hrs after last dose.

im not sure w/ the product you're using but it should have max dose per day based on your tank size. should also tell you how much 1 mL will raise one gallon. brightwell is like 26ppm/mL/gal or something. then you have to aprox the volume of water in the tank. don't forget about displacement from rocks sand ect. doesn't have to be perfect but the closer you get the more accurate you're dose. take the difference of where you need to be and where you are and then do the math
