Help with Algae
I have been trying to get rid of this algae that seems to only be on a few of my frags. I have tried to beat it with water changes, less light, and just pulling it out. Do you have any thing that I can try to get rid of it as I am losing my zoas to it. thank you

Wish I could lose some Zoas somehow, LOL. I believe you need to start by checking the TDS of your water that you use and then go from there. Excess nutrients are the cause of your algae.

pulling it out is a good thing.. if you can transfer the zoa's into a bucket of water (water change waste water is great) when doing so, it helps to ensure that not as many spores and the like don't get spread through your DT.

If it isn't spreading, you could try a peroxide dip. It looks like byropsis. I did a 25% rock dip with byropsis on it and it died off within a week. I know others have dipped zoas and they were fine and back open within 24hrs.
Some have had success raising Magnesium levels using Kent M. |
