Microbubbles in refugium
I have a separate fuge that I supply water to with a powerhead. Due to placement of ph Im getting a fair amount of microbubbles in the fuge. Is this a big deal? Any consequence to this at all?

More of a eye sore then anything. If this is a new setup then as the tubes and equipment break in the bubbles could reduce . Some foam filter pad by the inlet could also help reduce bubbles or reposition PH.

How quickly do they disperse? "fair amount" is relative.
![]() Bottom line..if they go right to the surface then no worries, but if you have a cloud of fine bubbles all the time you might wind up with algea (the kind you don't want) or cyano build up...and then the air can get trapped in the cyano and make a whole mess of things. It's still more visually displeasing than anything, but if you're trying to grow other things in there you might not like it. |
