Kessil A150W LED 10K up & running :)
Just wanted to post some new pics of my new Kessil A150W LED 10k that I just got yesterday to see what you guys think! Really glad I went 10k the light is much more purple/blue than pictures online make it appear. The shimmer on this thing is amazing I will post some updated pics and maybe a vid later tonight to highlight the shimmer, pretty impressed with this little light so far

The spread on it is pretty good, hits everything except for the top corners. Thinking I am going to get another one when my budget allows me too :P

Very Nice! I am thinking about one of these... They should make it possible to somehow thread the power cord through the neck....

I've running my Kessil A150 for two months now as supplemental lighting and the coral grow is amazing. Most of my corals have grown at least 3/8".
I am totally sold on the Kessil lighting and can't wait for the A-350 to come to the market. Randy |

Just added a kessil 150 and took out a par38 that just wasn't penetrating to the bottom (32"). Very pretty color as a supplement IMO...I like the 10/14k look so it's a bit blue. Just added it so I dunno results, but it's very small, very light. I was impressed by that part. I have an Orphek dif100 for the front half of the tank and granted a much brighter pendant, but WAY WAY WAY bigger and heavier

Post inspired me to order a Kessil 10k for my 75 to 110 upgrade. Thought I'd try one out and if I like the color and penetration I'll order a few more. 225 watts of T5's in combination with my 300 watt return pump are killing my electric bill. Thanks for posting the pictures -- real world info on these lights is hard to find.

I was looking at this very fixture at the LFS last week. It's a very impressive fixture. I'm interested to hear your long term impressions on this light.

Looks great! I like the last photo with that "Jacob's ladder" look and the shadowing.
Does the unit heat up up much with the passive cooling?

Thanks it was probably my 6th time redoing the aquascape , what do you mean by "jacobs ladder" ? edit: nevermind that question, I don't know how I would survive without google And it gets warm but nothing noticeable unless you physically touch the unit, it actually has active cooling with a little fan built into the unit although you'd never know because it runs silently

If you want long term review stuff contact neptunes aquarium in the bay area of Cali. They have been running several a150 over store tanks for awhile I believe. I think they were setting up some sorta sick in store display that was meant for the upcoming a350, but they went AI sol because the a350 still isn't available.

Two of my LFS has them on display and pretty much one unit covers 30x30 tank
I'm still not sold on LED (budget concerns) but these Kessil units sure rock. |

Awesome light!! I just purchased 3 lights for my 120g. 2 10K and 1 15K. I cant wait for them to come in...No more heat and replacing bulbs!!! These lights are superior from what I have seen and read. Great looking tank by the way!!

The dimensions are actually 36x18x21 not 16.. close though and I have the light about 6-7" off the water. 1 may be enough, I am not really in a position to say because I have yet to place any coral in the tank only on week 2 of cycle! As you can see it has a very nice spread (technically 120 degrees I believe) considering its slightly smaller than a soda can. But, I am going to try and get away with one for now since it is very bright! I figured I might as well start with one since I can always add another if I need to and shipping is free through marine depot! These lights go for $300 even with the gooseneck or $265 without the gooseneck
