help- sprung a leak!

So my RKL PC4 strip started clicking on and off yesterday, upon further inspection I noticed a fair amount of water behind it on the inside wood of the stand.
When I got it it was resealed and tested for 7 days in the garage with no leaks- and hasnt had any since I refilled it in the living room. It is currently just a very slow drip coming down the left side of the tank-
Any neat tricks I can try without completely breaking the tank down? I just got it established with some nice coraline growth and stable parameters- I am really concerned about messing with it at all - especially a complete teardown and the wait for a reseal to take-
Alternatively any advice on a good safe way to completely break it down (if I have to) without disturbing the eco balance and killing off all the live rock in it wold be welcome.
The leak did correspond with me trashing my crappy coralife skimmer and replacing it with a reef octopus HOB skimmer (it hangs on the side of the sump). I wouldnt imagine that the spray from the skimmer would cause that much water to accumulate but it might. can take some pics tomorrow if needed- thanks in advance for any and all advice!

Turn off the HOB skimmer. Dry the entire area off COMPLETELY (including the skimmer) and then tape up some paper towels in the area you think is the leak (or the splash). That means papertowels attached to the skimmer too. Then check it every few minutes for 15 to 30 minutes. If you don't see a leak, turn the skimmer on and continue watching. If you don't see a wet spot then keep checking it, just less frequently. I do a lot of plumbing work and some leaks can be VERY difficult to find.
