Rimless Tank CUC

Just wondering if there are any snails, shrimps, or other members of my future clean up crew that I should steer away from having a rimless tank with no top. Would prefer to see them cleaning my tank instead of my carpet (or becoming a potential kitty toy) ...

Your CUC will be fine, it is the fish you have to worry about!

We have assorted snails, hermit crabs, and a cleaner shrimp in ours without any escapees.

A rim doesn't stop snails etc from escaping. I have a rimmed tank and have found one or two nerites on the floor several times. The good news is that they seem to be able to survive and I just chuck them back in the tank.
