Cycling a tank
If I have a nano tank brand spankin new and I add water, rock, and some sand from an already established tank, what's the general time it should take to fully cycle and become stable?

If it's all coming from an existing tank you may not have a cycle. If you have no ammonia for a week you're good to go.
Personally I'd use new sand and seed it with a couple of small scoops of sand from the other sandbed. Unless you've regularly cleaned the sand it could have a lot of nasties in it.

+1 on a week of ammonia & nitrites testing at zero. Good luck on the new tank!
