How soon to add FISH after quarantine?

Hi I have a 50g w/ a 20g sump

Am curious how long I have to wait before adding fish... here is a scenario.

I have two clown fish in my tank right now, they've been in the tank for the past 2 weeks.

Lets say I have two other fish that have been in quarantine for 4 weeks or so now and are all good to go, can I add them both at once? Will the bioload support it? I just want to make sure I understand the degree of how long I have to wait for a bioload to establish... I came from the world of NANOs so I'm learning haha... thanks

what fish?

My guess is that it'll be fine. Particularly if you watch your feeding with the new fish.

I don't plan on having anything LARGE in the tank... most likely a wrasse of some sort

imo if you already have the fishes quarantine for a while and ready to go into the tank i would intro both at the same time. i would think less stress, because it wont get punked around by other fishes for territory as much, since they are going in at the same time.

Hey hey thanks peasofme, okay, so after quarantine... my question is more along the lines of bioload adjustment... if I had say 3 fish in quarantine, and it's been a month since I've added any fish. can I add them all at once? Or would that be too many for a tank of my size/volume.

The 3 fish would be smaller fish lets say

1) possum/chronic six line wrasse
2) tailspot blenny
3) royal gramma

thanks for all the continued help

how much live rock do you have?
are you feeding the tank already? other than the two clowns? corals?

my guess is that you should have NO PROBLEM bioload-wise in adding those fish.

I've heard those royal gramma and 6-lines can be holy terrors.

If you have a good skimmer and probably added a little more to your existing clean up crew... You should have any issues with your system handling the additional bio-load of three smaller fish. Just keep an eye on your skimmer. You may see it pull more skimmate, so you may need to make some minor adjustments to your skimmer but that's it.

Like JCW said, I'd be more concerned with the 6-line and dottyback's temperaments.

I'll make sure I check their temperament, I know the royal gramma can be a terror... I'll look for less aggressive grammas or maybe will consider a fridmani if anything

The royal gramma will get along with the clown fish. Clown fish will probably pick on the royal gramma especially since they were added to the tank first. Royal gramma will defend it's small cave or hiding place once established but will not terrorize the tank in my experience. I highly recommend the royal gramma, as a matter of fact, I have one in quarantine right now.

Yeah, I'm a fan of the royal gramma, just gotta make sure... they're cheaper than the fridmani and look equally cool IMO

Royal Grammas are amazing, you can't say a fish is aggressive if it is just defending his little area. Clowns you can say so because they like more space than other fish per say. And it isn't like the royal gramma is going to go out and kill your other fish. Six line on the other hand may do so...

I haven't keept both but I think a royal gramma is more peaceful than a fridmani. Don't quote me on it because I haven't kept both and just going off of what I have read thus far about them.

The Royal Gramma is nothing like the fridmani. Royal Grammas make much better community fish. They're harmless. Fridmani, like all dotty backs, can be nasty little fish.

I added the royal gramma from my quarantine tank after 1 month of observation. It is getting along fine with the other fish and is already staying out in the open. It found a small cave of branching coral and rock to call it's own. I agree with EC - they are harmless, more bark than bite :-)
