Hanna Calcium Checker

Hey I'm new to this website and hopefully this is the correct place for this.
But anyway.

I'm having a bit of a problem with my tester. Every time I test it I get a different reading and sometimes 600(max). I've tried following the kit & website instructions but still get different readings. It says to add 0.1ml of sample water; about how many drops would be in 0.1ml? Also, the kit says to add the reagentA & rodi water to calibrate then add the water from your tank and the powder reagentB while the website says to calibrate it by adding reagentA, rodi water and sample water all together and then on C2 just add the powder. Can someone please clear it out. Thanks.

I love my new hanna checkers. I don't have it in front of me but I believe the calcium one is
--turn it on until it flashes
--1mL of reagent A, then fill to the line with RO water. shake
--in the meter and hit the button until it flashes
--take it out and add 0.1mL of tank water and one packet of granules. shake
--back in the tester and hit the button.

for the 0.1ml of tank water put on the little micro dropper and it will help it be more accurate. also, put a full 1mL in the syringe, then just add drops until it reads 0.9mL.

hey thanks for your reply and that's exactly what i do. i always get different results... i already wasted a whole set of powder reagents and almost the whole bottle of reagentA . with the micro dropper its like 6 drops for 0.1ml but i dont know what i'm doing wrong..

Hanna is aware the calcium checker is giving issues (different readings mostly) to most users. Apparently they are working on a solution.

calcium checker by hanna is not worth the buy until hanna figures out a few issues on it....mine is diff all the time too and many times says above 600...i like the add .1 ml lol are you kidding....no room for error i guess haha salifert is still the way to go.....much easier and more accurate

Check the Hanna Sponsor forum on the main page. People love phosphate and alkalinity checker, but calcium is not getting very good reviews.
