salifert test kits
do the test tubes leak like the API?
I want to avoid that. also exactly which ones do I need besides ammonia, pH, Nitrite and Nitrate |

All the salifert tests I have you don't shake the vial, you just swirl it a bit. As for which ones to have, it depends on what's in your tank. LPS, SPS, FOWLR etc.
If you've got corals you're going to want to check more, but I'm a newb so I'll let someone else chime in as to what.

I use all Salifert and love them.
You'll also want to test Alk, Calcium and Magnesium. |

I have not tested ammonia, nitrite nor nitrate since the tank was 4 months old. I regularly check alk and calcium since I am still adjusting the dosing regimen, and occasionally will check magnesium. I use Salifert for these big three, and, no, the test tubes do not leak.

I also use salifert for all my testing needs. I keep alk, mag, cal on hand and test every few days. I haven't noticed any leaks at all and get very accurate readings.
