Thumbs down Wave maker and Maxi-Jet Pro?

Hello all!

I was into reef keeping back in high school, and the fire has been rekindled after I got hired at my university's ecotoxicology lab at the beginning of this semester.

We have a tank that contains a few species of scleractinians and their respective frags. We recently upgraded our pumps to Maxi-Jet Pros with the propeller style impeller. These things put out a lot of flow, but they do not seem to be working well with our Redsea wavemaker. The pumps will get power and chatter loudly for a while, but the impeller will not spin like it it should. Most of the time they don't create flow, and sometimes they just spin backwards. Is there anyone else that has at this issue? Could it be a bad signal from the wave maker, or is it the pumps?

+1 go with korillia or vortech if you have the money. I dont like the MJ Pro kit the Sure Flow is still way better.

I found the MJ's work good with a wavemaker but only with the stock form. Once you install those pro things they don't work.
