vertex illumina problem

I have two 24" model 200 illuminas running on two separate tanks. Within the past hour both have begun randomly turning pads on and off. I've used the v-link to re-upload the lighting programs which has not fixed the problem. I set the fans to on, were previously set to auto. Both have firmware 1631.

Any ideas? clams don't look to happy with the rapid light changes.

I wish I could help you, but I'm still learning the capabilites of my Illumina. I haven't experienced this problem, though. I'll be watching for the Vertex experts to answer this one.

P.S. It couldn't have anything to do with Ole Miss's football results, sould it? LOL

The Houston Nutt angle, intriguing theory.

Clouds are turned off. I checked http://www.vertexaquaristik.com/Prod...ina/SR600.aspx and I still get 1631 as the firmware download.

What I find odd is that the lights just started doing this on there own. I haven't tinkered with the settings for a few weeks and they were working fine until around 1 pm today.

Does anyone know of a customer support number?

A huge thanks to Willybub for helping fix the problem!

No idea what the problem was but unplugging the unit and holding down the second button from the right somehow fixed both fixtures.

There are three update on the Vertex site; the V-Stick remote 1695, the Desk Top 1.743 pc version and the Firmware 1631 (lamp programm). All should be donwloaded and updated. I would suggest starting with the Desk Top and use its new menus to up-date the others.

Secesh, you learned one of the basic secrets of all computer driven products. Unplug and re-set! I have no idea what caused your problem, but it could be anything from a spike in your electric (very common) to someones garage door opener (not likely, these days!) Our environment is becoming overfilled with disturbing waves making shielding a real challenge.

So that 1695 firmware update is for the v-stick? The firmware.txt included in the zip file is some what misleading such that I thought it is a firmware update to the lamp fixture !

Yes, the 1695 is the V-Stick software. The new Desk Top allows you to up-date and check which version you currently have via the main menu. The Summary menu is used to up-date the lamp Firmware.

Hi:-)
Try to set different chanels on the lamp. If both lamps are on the same channel, the pads will randomly turn on/ off. You can select the chanels on the lamp itself.I think that will solve your problem.
