BIO Pellets, Fact or Fiction?

Hi everybody. Just want to start by saying I dont have the answer to this question, but I would like an answer.

I have been using bio pellets in my reef tank and have not noticed any diffrence in the health of the coral. I use a Reef Octopus recator and NP biopellets. My tank is 240gls plus the sump is 60gls. I have followed the bio pellet instructions to the T and have not noticed any difference.

What were your parmeters when you started and what are they now? How long have you used them and how much bio load is in the tank and what kind of skimming?

Good questions, happy to help, but we need more info.

Without knowing what you're expecting I can't even answer fact or fiction.

For reducing nitrate and phosphate....Fact

There are some variables that go into play when using bio pellets and as we all know what works for one system may not work for another. A little experimentation goes a long way with all Reef equipment !! Some have stated having to put larger amounts of pellets in order to get results. I am 1 of those, I run over 3 cups (aprox 120 g of water) when instructions specifically state otherwise. BUT I got results !!
