Switching to LED; worried about shadowing
Hi everyone
I'm almost ready to make the switch to LED. currently, I have 144W of T5 over my 71G cube. As you can see on the picture, I have two pillars. Because of this aquascape I'm a bit worried about shadowing of the LEDs. I was planning to get the Ecotech Radion, but with only two main areas of LEDs, I dont know if it will be able to lid up the ares behind the pillars. Anyone has experience with LEDs a this kind of aquascape? Ecotech told me, the size of the tank should be fine for one Radion Module. |

Do you have corals behind the pillars? What's there to light? Since Radion has no optics its got a wide beam of 130 degrees, the light will just bounce off the rear tank wall to reach there. IMHO this is no different than a regular MH reflector.

Awesome! That's the kind of picture was looking for. On the Lower levels of the pillar I have only softies and other corals that don't need too much light to that should be ok.
Thanks |
