Auarium in indoor swimming pool room - chemicals in air a problem?
Hi
I`m trying to figure out where to put a coral aquarium in my home. Ive started a thread about whether pumps can work in attics above the water line. Another location is in my pool. I have a indoor swimming pool. Its heated day and night air and water are around 87F all year - the room is dehumidified 24/7. Its a Bromine pool - the chemicals get into the air. No doubt about that. Bromine in the water sits around 3 to 5 parts per million. I can get spikes up to 10 ppm when working on the pool equipment. Would the bromine in the air affect the water in the tank? Would the pump somehow transfer the chemicals in the air into the tank water? Anyone tried this before? |

If you put the tank in the wall, with only the facing glass visible from the pool, and NO contact between the air in that room and the tank, fine. But yes, I fear everything in the tank would be quite dead within the week.

Remember that aside from just surface agitation, your skimmer will actually be pumping that air into your water. Any chemical in the air will make it into the water.
