Should i sa and buy the Radion XR30 over the AI fixture??

So torn now with the 15% off for turkey day sales. Do you think it would be more worth it to spend that extra 160 bucks for my 60 gallon cube tank?? How much of a difference is the Radion going to make vs the AI on my tank??

Yes get it. To get a ai over radion to save 160 bucks is nuts. Think about it. 160 is nothing in the long term.

The radion looks better and has better spread.

They used to, but the shut that down. Thats why I asked. Cause all the coupon codes I have received, from Socaltropicalfishoutlet, aquacave, and a few others say, This excludes Aqua illuminations, and Ecotech products.

To me the AI units do just fine, the Ecotech lighting is way overpriced IMO.

No the Radions are getting the discount...I didnt go to the checkout but if you put them in your cart you will see the discount.

To the OP, I would never say F-it on something as important as lighting, make sure what you decide is the right decision and will do the job you are wanting it to. Its taken me 3 months to decide on lighting and Im still not 100% certain of my direction.

It takes two AIs to equile one Radion. So if you just have one AI on your 60 and went to Radion their would be a dramatic difference. I just up graded my 144 half circle from an Outer Orbitz w/ 2x250 hqi and 4 x 54 watt t5 to two Radions and the difference is amazing. My chiller doesn't come on any more but my heater does now.

Well, let's be realistic here. It takes 2 AI's to equal one Radion as far as coverage is concerned. So really it is $800 for 2 AI and $750 for one Radion.

Radion wins that battle as well.

I dont think it's as easy as 1xRadion = 2xAI but each Radion has much better spread so you could get away with one where 2 AI's would be needed. That said the Radion's give you more color varieties at the expense of blue and whites so you have to take that into consideration. If all you want is blue and white though the AI's might be the better choice to save money.

Well i ordered the Radion. Looks like the Radion has 10 more LEDS than the AI, and it works in tandum with my mp10s. Not to mention they say it covers a 24x24 area. PERFECT@ That is pretty sick. Not to mention the big fat 140 dollar discount i ended up with after ordering my stuff. Happy dance! Happy dance!

It's a legal store. Not sure if MD will price match since they have apparently agreed with Ecotech not to discount.

Why not just order from Champion?

It is a legal store....for at least 20 years now. I remember looking at their
ads in Aquarium magazines long before the internet was....the world wide web.
They were the place to go for lighting and pumps.

thanks, it just worries me cause I know ecotech does not want to lower their price, especially a new product, so it is kinda scary to pull the trigger. why champion lighting is able to sell it for 15% off? it seems like they are selling it below the cost.
