Cone skimmer questions

I upgraded to a new SWC 230 cone skimmer so I am looking for help with bubble height in the cone. The paperwork says for it to be in 7-9" water but nothing on bubble height. I know its going to take some time for the skimmer to break in and all that, just wondering what would be a good starting point. Also, how does the bubble height affect overall performance (wet/dry skimmate)?

Thanks
Jeff

Here's a couple pics:

This is where I set it for now-at the top of the cone.

That's good for now . It needs to break in first . U can raise it in a few days to a level right under the bottom of the collection cup

I just got it today so it still needs to be broken in. Main thing is I was looking for a good starting level.

regards,
Jeff

I agree on lowering it. If you have it too high when it starts to actually skim it will overflow. That could cause quite a mess. I would put it about 2-3" below the start of collection cup neck and adjust it once it's broken in.
