Is one MP10 enough?

Do you guys think one MP10 is enough for my 30 gallon long? I currently have two Korallia 1050gph pumps, which provides more than enough flow, but I want more random/natural flow in the tank. Thanks!

I have one on a 40 breeder and it more than enough. It's only a 3' tank though.

Mine is only 3' too.

My only concern is the area right below the MP10. Will the flow be dead there?

The way the water bounces back from the other side of the tank keeps that area stirred up too. It's not as strong of a current there but there is movement.

Landon, what are you keeping in your system? If you are keeping SPS I would go with two MP10's as you may find that you don't want to run one full out.

I have an MP10 on a 3g tank right now (experimentation tank) and I can turn it up to 30% without stirring up the crushed coral sandbed or sending water over the edge.

I'm planning on 2 MP10's for my 65g, but I may change one out for an MP40. You can't go wrong IMO getting one MP10 and playing with it to see if you need more.

Hi, I'm keeping a mixed reef right now with only a few Acropora. I think I will try just one MP10 and if I need more flow, I will consider getting another.

Sounds like a good plan. You won't regret having at least one MP10 in your setup

You get a pretty good undertow from the vortechs, you should have plenty of flow right below it.

I now have two on my 58 (36"L x 18"W) and love the flow but when i had just one it still did an awesome job! So one on a 30 should be great!

Using one mp10 on my 40b. Works great on reef crest 100%.

I used one MP10 on my 40g breeder for about 4 months. It wasn't anywhere near enough for my tank. They only push water about 30" effectively. The last 6" on my tank was always stagnant compared to the rest of the tank.

When I added the second MP10, things were much better. Now I have my MP10 on a 24g Nano Cube and also use a Tunze 6015. I am not a fanboy of either company but the Vortech will be sold with the new tank.

I am tired of the giant motor blocking my view on the side panels and I am tired of hearing the pump. It isn't loud but it is ALWAYS there. It never really bugged me until the last couple months after I got the Tunze.

The Tunze is now tucked away behind some rock and no noise! Not trying to deter you in any way OP but sharing my experience.

I'm starting off with one mp10 in my 55. I know ones not going to be enough but until the finances allow I'm going to use one along with one of my other maxi jets. Curious if I get a mp40 next can you still sync them? Does it matter what model you have or are they all compatable.

One MP10 definitely NOT ideal for a 30g long sps tank. Might be OK for mixed/lps/softy tank.

Would work great on a solana.

I would start with one on the 30g and add another if its needed.
