finally the time has come

Finally I have saltwater mixed up and ready to go. I have my qt tank all ready. So my question is do I cycle my qt tank like I would my display? I plan on keeping the qt running since i will be stocking my display tank.

I keep my QT cycled. I figure why add to stress with constant water changes and potential ammonia poisoning...not to mention daily water changes are costly and a PITA! So, I would cycle the QT, although not in the same way you are cycling the DT, i.e., not with LR. Just add an ammonia source (either feed the tank or add a dead shrimp) and run whatever filter you're using, along with the heater.

Ya I am keeping the tank cycled. Being a noob at saltwater tanks I'm trying to do this as the least stressful as possible. So ill ghost feed it and test the water every other day
