You guys talked me into it
I have a 75 gal that I have decided to have drilled but I have a few questions. I was told that two 1" bulkheads would do the trick but my question is where to put the holes should they be even with eachother or one lower than the other? How far from the top of the tanks should they be? The other question is where can i get the overflow box or should i just use glass to build it into the tank?

Two 1" bulkheads will seal the deal. That is what I have on my 65G and my 90G tanks. they flow at about 700gph. The holes are actually drilled in the bottom of the tank. If you do it this way there is no need for an overflow box.

I agree with jdm01 about the 1" bulkheads working well, however, make sure the bottom of your tank is not tempered glass if you decide to drill the bottom. I tried drilling the bottom of a 90 gallon and did not know it was tempered and it shattered. Either way, best of luck!

I put 2 1" holes in the top left on my 56 gal. with a 3/4" to the right. Reason being thats the way my sump is set up. It also let me drill holes in my stand to support the pipes. I also was not sure as to how high to put them so ended up just low enough that bulkheads just cleared top rim.

I'd do 3 holes. That's what the newest version of the BeanAnimal set up is. I which I had been smart enough 18 months ago to have drilled an extra hole as an emergency drain. It's super cheap insurance. Just do it!
