Brown algae issues
Hello all,
I have a 29 gallon nano reef that I have had started for about 6 months now. Livestock is two perculas and a CUC. I started with base rock and a couple pieces of live rock. I have a few mushrooms, a hammer coral and a couple zoas in there. I have been having issues with brown algae all over the rocks. The algae has a whitish top layer to it, almost like felt. I admit I fell behind on water changes recently but I just tested the water and all parameters look good, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 0. Phosphate is undetectable. pH is around 8.2. Salinity is 1.027. The only filtration I have is a protein skimmer and two power heads for circulation. Any idea what I should test for next? This brown algae is really getting to be a drag... |

Pictures would help us help you, it could be Cyano bacteria instead of an algae.
