The new coralife skimmer is awesome! It is dead quiet and does a fantastic job. They have one rated for 125g and 220g.

I would do a used asm or reef octopus. These days people are quitting the hobby early and leaving nive equipment cheap. Or ebay has nice stuff.

You get what you pay for when it comes to skimmers. Bubble King, Deltec, H&S, Euro-Reef (now Reef Dynamics) are well known names whose products have performed well over the long term. Avast is a fairly new company but they have some top quality stuff, to include customer service, and their prices are great. Reef Octopus re-designed all of their skimmers, but their current designs haven't been around long enough to know if they will perform well over the long haul. Everyone will tell you that the skimmer THEY have is the best. Don't buy it......get a good quality name brand.
