Water Blaster Pumps

Would like to get opinions on these from people using these.
How Long have you had the pump in service?
Any Problems with them?
Are they low wattage as advertised?
Would you buy another or go with a different brand pump?

been running the BB 3000 on my skimmer for over a year...measured at 49w, speced at like 50. So right in line.

Got the HY 7000 for my return pump/manifold reactor feed pumps. Flows a lot as advertised! Speced at like 88w and mine was pulling 66 watt with no head pressure and dipped to like high 50's at like 8' head. Pump is very quite too.

Glad to see the wattages are as advertised and lower. This is what I'm looking for, one pump to run my manifold and return. Right now I have an ATB 1800 on my return and a 1500 Laguna on my manifold 200 watts total. Like a 200 watt heater running all the time.

I have a hy7000 for my return pump been up and running 1 1/2 years no problems until last night. The coupler on the outside cracked and was leaking. I am in process of getting another one now.
The pump is silent and very efficient however I dont like the plastic couplers that can crack. This also happened to another local reefer. If you hand tighten them too tight they will crack. I find using the PVC putty sealant ( mega-lock) rather than teflon tape works better and you dont have to tighten it as much for a good seal.

Also can you run a flex hose out of the top with a hose barb? are they female conections both sides?

I have an HY5000 as my return run internally and have not had any problems. I installed in on a piece of glass that had a liberal amount of silicone sandwiched between it and the glass bottom of my sump to absorb some vibration. This seems to have been overkill as i am not having any issues with sound at all. This is even hard plumbed which is attached to the rear wall of the stand. I am ordering a second for my qt system.

7000 sizes are 1.25 in 1" out as you stated, both female.

yes you can use barbed with the flex, personally I prefer glued. I used the provided slip fitting and glued my flex tubing on but either way would work.
