Does temp mater for cycling empty tank??
Well does it??
I'm letting the cycle in my fuge run its corse befor hooking it up to my DT. Should it be heated during this time?? If so... Does it need to be kept at normal tank temps?? My room is rather warm. Around 70F Actualy. My bedroom is on the small side and it's above the room with my wood stove.

My advice would be to cycle a tank like you will be running it a year from now. With the exception of a skimmer and UV. If you have those don’t run them until after the cycle.
In other words if you intend to run the tank at 70F then cycle it at 70F.

Remember what you are doing when you cycle a tank - you are colonizing it with bacteria. They are more tolerant than fish when it comes to temperature, but will grow best (and your tank will cycle fastest) at a 'normal' temperature vs leaving it unheated.
Cycling is also a good time to get a feel for how a tank 'behaves' so you know what to expect when you add fish. |

All sounds pod enough to me. I figured I should heat it. Just wasn't 100% and was feeling lazy and was hoping for a no.
Also... This is a fuge we are talking about. The DT is up and running. A phew fish and some anemones are living happily in there and I just don't want to restart a cycle in the whole system when I add the fuge/sump.
