Is there way to plug a drilled hole on a glass tank that is safe?

I have a 55g tank drilled for a sump and would like to change the location of the pump to better facilitate a refugium.

Is this possible?

Buy the appropriate sized bulkhead and a plug to fit it and install.

I have a 40 breeder that was drilled but I wanted to use as a display tank. I took a piece of glass larger than the hole and siliconed it on the inside. The pressure of the water helps hold it in place. Been set up for over a year with no problems.

Both options are very doable solutions you will have no issues with either.

If you go with the Glass plate on the inside, just make sure where the glass surfaces will be siliconed are completely clean. Hate to set it up and have a leak. I have remounted the front glass of my starphire after manufacturer seal bubbled and split.
