New Clownfish staying at corner top of tank near powerhead
Why is the new little clownfish I added to the tank today just staying towards the top corner of the tank by the powerhead. He ate well and swam throughout the tank for the better part of the day, but for the last few hours has just remained in the top left corner by the powerhead. Is there a reason for that? I only have one other fish in the tank a Chromi and a skunk shrimp. Thanks.

Give him time. He probably feels safe there.

My clownfish killed 2 chromis back when i had my first tank. I'd be more worried about that then the chromis on the clown lol. Somebody at a LFS told me once that they are somewhat related and if the clown is big enough in comparison to the chromis then it can be good game for that chromis.

It is rather normal, especially for Ocellaris and perculas, it is a safe, defensible position--that is how I look at it anyway. A "host" if you will. Takes some time, a month sometimes, before they will venture around the tank, other than to eat. Have heard of it taking a year before.

Yeah just give it sometime. At least he doesn't go through the tank like a crazy fish. He is gonna be ok in the next moth or so.

I have a clownfish who lays flat up against the intake of the filtration like he is getting a massage. He seems to really like it, then when its feeding time he just swims towards the food and then goes back to the intake.

I have a Yellow Stripe Maroon that was all over my QT tank for the first week in QT and then decided he found his hangout up by the HOB filter intake siphon. Except for feeding time he stayed in that same spot for the next three weeks straight. Now that he is in the DT he is all over the tank but sleeps up in the corner against the overflow wall.
Clowns don't behave like most fish. They're a little odd. Nick
