Using MJ1200 out of the water

My MJ1200 powers my GAC/GFO canister. Since I only have a 20g, the MJ1200 is in the display right now, and I've grown rather tired of it. If I prime the pump, would I be able to use a tube that extracts water from my skimmer output going straight to the MJ that's out of water?

Josh

The Mj pumps are not sealed, so you could not run it external or you will have a mess.
