Vortech MP10's on 100 Gallon?
So, I am upgrading to a 100 gallon (5 ft) in two days. I currently have 3 Vortech MP10's in my tank. Will the MP10's be enough for the 100 Gallon with LPS or should I upgrade to MP40's? I know the acrylic thickness will be fine (3/8") but am interested if they will provide enough flow and in what position in the tank would be best.

What are the other two dimensions? I would think it would be ok unless you are going to try and go all acro's.

The tank is 60x18x20, it's going to be LPS.

I don't see any problems, you may have to play with the placement but if it doesn't give you what you want, you can always go to something bigger.

Since you already have them and you are going with an LPS tank I would recommend setting up the tank with what you have and see how it goes...You might have to a 4th if you decide it isnt enough. I would try one on each end and one in the middle, see how it goes...2 on back and 2 on sides would create some really random flow

I prefer multiples over one for a bit more random flow...

Yeah I have them running on 40% right now on a 55 gallon. I figure I'll be at 80% on the 100 gallon. I had a MP40 previously and the noise bothered me a bit.

if you have 3 of them and the thickness is 3/8 you will be fine, just place all 3 on the back wall you will have plenty of flow.
