need help please urgent

i just put ai leds on my reef tank after having metalhaides and t5s on it my tank looks like milk a did not add any thing new to the tank we did buy a house hold ozone generator that sits on my canopy to have clean air in to the house i tested my water and every things off the charts and i dont know why i dont over feed and tanks been up for over a year it happend after i added si lights and the ozone is the ozone doing it ? thanks so much

I doubt that it's the LEDs or ozone... did something die in the tank? anemone caught in powerhead?

I cant speculate whether or not the ozone had an effect or not, but i have the AI nano, and had no such cloudiness occur when i installed mine. Its either a reaction from the ozone, or something biologically - especially if your parameters were affected.

Check your ORP. If it is off, it is likely the Ozone.

every thing off the charts tank was find last 5 days i think its the ozone i added it tto the house 3 days ago

do you smell the ozone in the room?... do you run an air pump/line into the tank

Try shutting it down and see if anything changes. I doubt it is, but it is worth a try

yes i smell it big time in house no i do not run a air line to the tank its only for the house

to the best of my knowledge, it's not good to be breathing a lot of ozone...
I meant an air pump that was 'pulling' the room air (ozone) into tank

ya i just read they are bad to have on 24-7 didn't know that no air pumps my skimmer pulls room air in i would all most bet money that ozone did it

Sounds like you found the culprit! ORP stands for oxidation-reduction potential. Its basically the tendency of the water chemistry to exchange electrons, either by reduction reactions (gain of electrons), or oxidation reaction (loss of electrons). These reactions in the water affects the solubility of nutrients in the water, including metal ions. Thats about all i can tell you about it as i have only studied this in chemistry courses, and have no experience with it in the aquarium world. Im not sure what ideal levels would be at, or what the affects of them being too high or too low on the reef inhabitants. I do know that testing ORP requires a sensor, which can be expensive, but there may be simpler testing kits available that im not aware of. Hope this helps!
