Just add water and... stir?

So, after reading, and waiting, and reading, and saving--I've finally got the tank up and running. 55g with 50lbs LR, 50lbs LS. Added the salt water, got the sump full too (25g). skimmer, powerheads, heaters all set up and working.

my question is:

Now that I've got the system full of water, and I'm waiting for the dust to clear:
-should I be running the system. Ie, running it through the sump, skimmer, up the return, or do I let the dust clear before I do that.
-should I be running the powerheads to keep the flow up for the LR?
-should I be running the skimmer?

Thanks for reading!

sure, sure and sure

none will hurt it and the time will give you some experience getting skimmer set up and a chance to look things over

I think you should run everything so you can work out any kinks your system might have this way your not caught off guard. also when everything is running shutt the system off to make sure the sump will hold all the water incase of a power outtage.

I ran my skimmer at the very beginning of my cycle. It'll help it break in. Like everyone else said....Nows the time to test everything

Run it like it's an aquarium... oh, that's right, it is. If you have any kind of filter (sock, sponge, whatever) it will help clear the cloudy water, just pat attention and be prepared to clean it. Good luck and have fun.
