How long does it take for a BTA to split
My RBTA looked a bit unusual yesterday morning. It's foot seemed really spread out. After work I realized that it's finally splitting for the first time after about a year and a half. This morning it has two seperate feet but the top hadn't yet split. How long does this process typically take?

Then it usually takes a few days for it to heal up after it splits.

Thanks. When would it be safe to take one out of the tank and transport?

Give it a couple of weeks to strengthen. I lost a clone that recently split when I transferred tanks.
