ro/di plz plz help.
ok so i just invested in one of these ro/di. http://www.marinedepot.com/reverse-o...axxima-ap.html
I installed and it runs pretty good, well to me it does. I was wondering does the housing of 3rd canister where the deionization cartridge is does it suppose to be wet? cause i unscrewed the and the clear housing is full of water. Sorry if this confusing. |

Absolutely, it would do nothing if it wasn't wet.

Sorry Water flows in around the outside of the canister and the only way out is to pass through the DI resin. That's how all three chambers work, just different filter membranes.

Just to give you a heads up, if you ever want to use your RODI for drinking water, its best to remove the DI cartridge.
Not saying you will...but its excellent drinking water. DI just isn't the best for you. Simply remove the DI filter, and let the third chamber just fill up with water. Then when your done, simply put it back in. A great way to use the RODI system in another way |

Or an easier way is to put a 'T' fitting in the tubing between the RO membrane and the DI canister, then a section of tubing off the T with a ball valve. Then you just open the ball valve when you want RO drinking water.
+1 one on the taste for drinking. It's also good for making beer! |
