May be investing in a new main pump. Currently I have:
*Supreme Classic 700 GPH Refugium Pump *1-"Marineland" Maxi-Jet 900 Multi-use Submersible Pump and Power Head 230 GPH *2 -"Marineland" Maxi-Jet 600 Multi-use Submersible Pump and Power Head 160 GPH So I have a 700 now if I have to replace it should I go up a model to the 950 or just stick with 700? 50 gallon rectangle. 45 pounds of rock. It all depends on how it's set up. It sounds like you may have an unusual configuration since you have a Refugium pump. More information is required on the setup and configuration of this system.

When it comes to the setup I'm a moron so bear with me. The pump is connected to PVC pipe which splits to either side of the tank push water in from the sub tank. From the overlow box the water goes through the u tube, through a sponge filter through a tube to a container containing rock to my sump and back out to the sub tank. Other jets ate for current in the tank itself. Does that help?

It sounds complicated, why are you considering going to a larger pump?

I bought everything used as a set. Including live stock. I think in the near future the pump needs replacing and I didn't know if I should upgrade or not

It really depends on the u-tube overflow capacity and if you're currently having any issues that need to be addressed. The drain capacity will determine if you would be able to run a larger pump without having to upgrade the plumbing. If the drain is functioning properly and the sump is doing what it's supposed to be doing then my recommendation is to not change the size of the pump. My concern for you is the utube overflow and the water flow within the Display Tank. Some of the utube overflows are more reliable then others and I would hate for you to learn that the hard way. That is an area to research if you haven't already done so. It looks like you may be lacking in the flow department from the powerheads. But that would be more determined by what you're keeping in the tank and if the livestock appears to be happy. If everything is working great then why mess with success

The SC mag 7 pump that you have is one that alot of people use for a main pump. the only reason i see you might need to get a larger pump is if you plan on using a reactor for GFO or carbon. If your worried about the pump just buy a spare pump.
