household chores vs reef chores
Clean the garage, back flush the pool filter, pick up dry cleaning, organize closet, fix computer, get oil changed on car.
But, I have to clean the skimmer cup, do a water change, scrub glass. do household chores ever win?

My dog is getting very annoyed with me. I'm either on the computer or messing with the tank (oh yeah, and I work). I'm hoping that once the thing is up and running and stable life will get more balanced again.

Very funny. I did about seven hours of yard work today and was so tired when I finished that all I could think of was sitting on the couch and having a cold beer...that didn't happen until I did some minor tank maintenance, then I had the beer.
My wife ensures that tank maintenance happens on my time and that household chores happens on her time. Needless to say I have a lot of long days when household chores are on the honey do list. Nothing worse than her sitting on the couch enjoying a glass of wine after doing some yardwork and me still doing tank chores. Oh well though, I still enjoy all of it!

The funny part of this is that I get to tell everyone that I couldn't do chores because I was "working so hard on the tank". So what if there are some dishes in the sink and I have ring around the toilet. You should see how clean my skimmer cup is.
