Water storage tanks
Looking for what people are mostly using for good water storage tanks around 30 gal. for ro and salt mixing. I don't know what types to stay away from exactly chemical wise.

A lot use the brute trash cans, I use a 30g water barrel. Mine was used to hold car washing soap... if I would have known, I wouldn't have got it and kept looking for another one. Or maybe spent the money for a brand new one approved for food.
I'm using the barrel now after a good cleaning with bleach, vinegar, and baking soda. Keep in mind that letting the barrel dry after the bleach is very important as chlorine evaporates. You can always use products by companies like SeaChem Prime to remove chlorine as well. |

+1 for the brutes - they seem to be a popular choice. I use a 55g barrel for mine

Thanks guys.
My home Depot has them in two different types. Will just the brute trash cans work or should I get the heavier brute containers. |

Get one of the heavier, round, gray or white ones with a cover and wheels if you need then.

I use the gray Brute containers with wheels. They should state that they're NSF-approved (food safe). Avoid the Rubbermaid Roughnecks, which are thinner in material and more prone to crack (and leak).

Ok, I'll go with the heavier brute container, its only 12 dollars more each when ya add the cover. I believe these are the grey food safe containers.
