New Rookie Reefer says Hi!
Hey Guys,
Longtime fish guy here decided to get back involved in marine life after a 10yr vacation, I have decided to try the "reef" tank. I really want to focus on the coral's and small invertebrates/crustaceans. I love fish...but the LPS, SPS and Clams have really reignighted a flame. Here's the configuration I have purchased and eagerly await the build and delivery: 150G X-Tall - 48" x 24" x 31" INS-135 Protein Skimmer Berlin 200 Sump Aqua UV 25W Sterilizer Reeflo Snapper Hybrid External Pump 2 x Vortech MP40WES pumps 2 x Radion XR30W LEDs I liked that I can link the MP40s and the Radions for feeding, night, storm, wave, etc...cycles on a daily basis). I hear they are soon to release an upgrade so the lights and pump cycles can be configured on a 7-day cycle allowing each Wednesday to be a STORM day....lol. I plan to start with 50lbs of Fiji Live Rock and 120lbs of Live Fiji Pink substrate. I reckon I'll use some wet base rock and build the LR on top. I'm literally like a kid at christmas and am reading everything I can, like a sponge, to refresh my memory. Looking forward to re-learning this stuff with what appears to be some really, really cool new technology. Anyway...just stopping in to break my posting cherry and say hi. Cheers, Matt. |
