Need help!!! LTA purple might be sick

Someone please look at the picture and tell me if e is sick. He shrunk today and I'm worried he's getting sick.

Attached to the bottom of the tank through the sand? If not, I would be concerned. Tank water parameters? Background about the tank and the anemone?

I can't tell if he's attached. Should I move him on top of some rock?

75 degrees

Year old . 72 gallon bow front. 2 sol blue lights

everything looks good besides he got tiny. And I'm new to amenone how would I tell his guts r out?

Your parameters look good, however, 75 is on the cool side for that species, in my opinion. It won't kill it, but I personally wouldn't want to keep it in less than 78F water for a long period, and preferably 80. No, don't move the anemone on the rocks. That species digs into the sand and attaches to the bottom of the tank. How long have you had the anemone?

I bought it yesterday. Ill bring the water temp up and see how he is in the morning.

Since it's brand new in the tank, some deflation, etc. is not uncommon. Hopefully it will dig into the sand soon. If you want to research that species, the Latin name is Macrodactyla doreensis.

Woke up this morning and saw that the LTA's mouth look like it had cauliflower growing from it (or ballons) I'm at work not I'm worried it will die off in the tank? Does it stand a chance or should i have someone go to my house and remove him? it was attached last night and this morning detached. Be he keeps doing that.

NEED FAST REPLY!! PLEASE!

Your anemone, M. doreensis, is a sand anemone. Don't try to put him on rock - he will only be happy in the sand. As people have pointed out, any anemone, when placed in a new environment, will go through a period of acclimatization, during which they will inflate and deflate to balance water chemistry and remove waste.

Can you take a pic of the anemone in the current condition? Additionally, if your anemone dies, it will normally take a little time (12 hours or so) to start decomposing, so it is rare to have a single anemone death crash a tank unless you leave the body in there for several days.

Here are the new pictures. He looks alot better. Another question is that my domino damsel seems to be going into his mouth here and there good or bad?

In those pics it doesn't look bad, but it doesn't seen to be dug into the sand. that is not a good sign for an LTA that's been in a tank for a couple of days. I wouldn't worry about the dominoes, that species is known to associate with anemones in the wild, just not as closely as clownfish do.

my lta walked around the tank for a week or 2....i think he looks great for being new....DSC_0056.jpg.......can you see the bottom of the tank from inside the stand? if you can just check to see if the foot is attached to the bottom glass......my stand dosent have a tabletop so i can see the foot attached from underneath

I will leave him alone. I have been doing 10% water change every saturday. So i will leave him alone and hopefully he stays healthy. Thanks. Keep you guys updated if anything changes.

Are you talking about your looking great or mine for being new?

I think it looks like it is starting to settle in, Just keep up with your water changes and it will attach and be happy....How long has it been in your set-up and is it eating???Awesome Anenome by the way...Nice color!!!!

He's been in there since Saturday. Also, i tried to feed him krill the first day and he said F U to it. but i will try again or what else can i try?

Don't try to feed the LTA until it is firmly attached. It will either refuse the food straight out, as it did with the krill, or take it in and spit the food out in a few hours. Perfect water parameters are the objective at this point so it will dig into the sand.

I wouldn't worry about the dominoes, that species is known to associate with anemones in the wild, just not as closely as clownfish do.
