Sump Design Sketch
Hey guys, I made a rough sketch of what I plan on my sump is going to look like and I was hoping you guys could provide some feedback, thanks!

Skimmer should not be in the return section because micro bubbles will occur from the output. The skimmer is usually placed in the first chamber (tank drain)

So should the skimmer be directly attached to the overflow piping?

I would move the bubble trap between the skimmer and the return pump.

Alright since i'm moving the protein skimmer into the first chamber, should I move the foam to the left side of the bubble trap?

That looks better. I would probably skip the foam unless you're attached to it

I agree with Playa-1
having the skimmer close to tank drain will maximize its use and avoid micro bubbles instead of the foam and eggcrate shelf consider another chamber for a small macro algea refugium

Ok, i'll get rid of the rock and foam, i'm going to have a seperate fuge so I don't need a fuge chamber.
