Not sure what happened, fish down

I started my 3 days off darkness due to a slight algae bloom. The tank now looks great! However, during "the darkness" my sea urchin decided to eat one of my xenia heads. But my real concern...... My hippo tang found a spot in the rocks he liked during the darkness. He started to only come out to eat. I last saw him Tuesday, he stopping eating. So yesterday I moved the rocks and he was dead! What happened?? All I did was turn the lights off. Confused, and miss my fish.

My Xenia is new and still contained. Only 2 heads left. They haven't begun to spread yet

You did continue to feed during the lights out, right?

Whatever was fueling the algae was your most likely culprit for your tang passing. Please share your maintenance routine and your setup so we can be more help...

I bought everything on craigslist, set up, nit sure on the kind of set up. But I do 10% water changes each week. Perameters are fine. I called a local professional, he came by, he said my tanks in perfect shape and he had no idea what happened. I Aldo bought the fish from him. I still sort of new at this so if u dint answer your questions, as a direct question, might be easier for recto answer, as I am learning on my own

Do you have low water flow or a lid on the tank?
