Par readings - 16 Gal Nuvo Aquarium IM
http://youtu.be/zrsyWIbN738
Did some PAR readings on the Innovative Marine 16 Gal with 16W LED. The Tank was at my buddy's store. We took the readings without water in the tank and as you can see from the video the readings were kinda disappointing. Can only imagine the par gets lower after putting water in the tank. IDK? I guess I expected them to be reef capable systems. IM advertise them as being fully reef capable.
Dang these manufacturers and their unfounded claims! I want one of these beauties, but I don't want to have to buy a different light to put on it.... |

I was able to tell from the specs published on the tank that it was going to be no where enough light for a reef tank. I still got one, have a radeion on it, and love it. Its a great looking tank. The nice thing about the tank is that it is similar in dimensions to a 20 gal long, so alot of the 24" T5 fixtures fit nicely on top of it.
