Equipment for a 350G Reef
Hey I just bought a 350G Acrylic Reef Tank and I need some recommendations for Equipment. I have never had a tank this large before and I was wondering what peoples thoughts were on the best Protein Skimmer, Biopellet Reactor, Lighting (it currently has 6 400W mogul base MH and 7 65W PC) thinking about switching to LEDs, pumps, etc... If you have an opinion I want to here it!!! This is a pretty big upgrade over my previous 125 as this tank will be a centerpiece in the middle of a room in my finished basement viewable from all four sides (it has a center overflow). Let me know what you guys think. I have attached some pics.

Cmon guys I need some help! I have no experience with controllers and I would like one with decent functionality, I am looking into a SRO 5000 or 6000 for skimmers thoughts??, I am thinking of going the multichip route for LEDs, I am debating closed loop or powerheads..... please let me know what you think.

Hello,
A tank like that was born for close loop along with a egg crate foam/rock center overflow. I would also get the biggest skimmer you can and load it up....your tank with fish and corals that is Welcome to the big boy toy club kiss your wallet goodbye!

ya i am thinking of covering the overflow with rock/foam and leaving space so fish can swim all the way around the tank unobstructed. Does is matter what type of pump i use for closed loop in terms of anything other then gph?? Ya I hear you about the wallet thing!! I got the tank and some supplies with the tank really cheap now I am looking at like $5k easy for the rest of the equipment..... Good thing I just got a $30k promotion at work!!! Lets spend some money!

I like your thinking lets do it! I am using two Water Blaster 16000s on my close loop with Reeflo Dart(Balder Motor) for my return pump. I just sold my new Apollo LEDs unopened so i can build a custom 30" cree/bridgelux fixture surrounding two Kessel Tuna 350s. This will go with my two Lumen Max Elite 250 MHs 14k on each side of LEDs.
Now for the bad boy........$ 2,000+ custom made skimmer by Billwann at RF that produces of foam head that will bring beer drinkers to their knees Wow kinda nice spending somone else's money, now i know how it feels to be a girl.......Jk Best of luck!!!

Thats a lot of foam, when it's on the floor, you know you've got something special.
