Magnets?

Bought some regular disk style magnets from HD to use on some of the items in my tank (heater, APEX thermometer, etc). Are these ok to use inside the aquaria or do I need some special magnets?

Also, for my apex thermometer probe, is there a special way to attach the magnet to the probe? Like maybe to the wire as to not get the probe too hot. Was going to use a hot glue gun to glue all this stuff. Does this sound ok?

Thanks in advance

Mark

No metals in the tank. If you want to use magnets encase them in epoxy.

Ok, that makes sense. Any kind of epoxy that you would recommend?

Anyone have any recommendations for a good epoxy to use in aquarium I can get from Home Depot?

Plasticdip. But you are asking for problems if you use those magnets. buy some Neo dynanium magnets that are already coated in epoxy. Then coat them in plastic dip. Thats what I did and they work great. Those other magnets just might not be strong enough.
