Wet/Dry Filter overflows when powered off.

I just installed a wet/dry filter on my new 90 gallon saltwater tank. I have a maxijet 1800 to return the water through a directional U-tube. If I shut the power off to feed the fish the water back flows through the maxijet pump and will overflow my 30 gallon sump. I have a ball valve that I can use if I am here. But if I have a power outage I am in trouble. Any suggestions would be great Thanks.

Drill a small hole on the return nozzle about an inch below the water level. When the power goes off the hole will break the siphon. What brand of wet dry is it? What brand is the return nozzle? All the ones I have ever used have already had the siphon break hole put in already.

It is a homemade sump out of a 29 gallon tank. The return nozzle is just a directional u-tube. What size hole should I drill? http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...m?pcatid=14680
