skimmer
plan is an 210 w/ 125 gallon sump/fuge fowlr at first until i get the chemistry down then sps dominant with some lps and softies. been looking at a deltec ext. skimmer TC2060. just want to know if its up to the task or if its too small. maybe get a second one once the reef starts to fill in. keep in mind that this is a few months away from starting up
i would post a link but im not sure if that violates TOS since it leads to a vendor. its a vendor on this forum if that means anything

Thats a nice size tank with sump, great water volume. I think that skimmer is fine you may also want to look into the Super Reef Octopus skimmers. I really dont think you can go wrong with these skimmers.

That skimmer is rated for 375g so you should be good, is there a particular reason you going with an external skimmer?

Skimmer will be powerful enough even in a moderately fed tank to boost your sps growth!

great but also bad. it was marked down to $899 last night. tonight its back up to $1399. for that price i might as well go with a bubble king guess ill just keep looking. was eyeing some reef octopus skimmers earlier
Reefmedic79 is there a particular reason you going with an external skimmer? just ease of maintenance if its sitting behind the door to my stand. more likely to clean it if its sitting in my face as soon as i open the door. also my plan slightly changes with my sump and i decided to make the sump more fuge than sump. instead of skimmer/drains on the right, fuge on the left and return in the middle i decided to go. low flow fuge on left for marine plants, return in the middle, and high flow fuge on the right with a ton of cheato. skimmer would dump here as well as the drains. any thoughts/suggestions about this?

IMO I would not even bother with either Bubble King or Deltec, both over priced. SRO are great, and I would take on in a second over wither the above. ATB is another great company with service to back it up, I just switched to one from a SRO since I am again trying to reduce noise. SRO are not loud at all, very quiet....but ATBs are quieter still.
