It is having restart issues, remove the impeller and soak it in vinegar and the pump body also. Then run the pump in a vinegar solution in a bucket.
Welcome to Reef Central. PS your English is better than my Spanish |

thx for reply moondoggy
i'm going to clean the pump with vinegar, i hope the pump works better after this do you know someone who have this skimer and have the same problems to start it?? the problem of my skimer is that the skimer don't starts to work untill i blow into the air intake, the pump don't have enought power to start to suck air, and i don't know if it is normal or my pump is damaged. if someone who have this skimer tell me that her skimer do the same and it's normal, i will be happy, so my pump would be ok. |

How long have you been running this skimmer. This particular skimmer MCE 300 I believe is a very good skimmer with little problems, I take it this is a HOB skimmer.

Hi all,
I have bought the same skimmer( MCX 300) few days ago. From the beginning it has the same problem. It is new. When i m stopping it for feeding then i have to blow air into the air tube to help it starts again. Is it common problem for this model ? The pump is MaxiJet 1000. when it hold the pump in my hands and try the same thing without have the pump into the skimmer, then the pump starts normally. But when the pump is installed inside the skimmer and try to pull off and on again the power i have to blow air inside the tube to starts skimming again. Any help ?

Sounds like the old Rio pumps that you had to hit to make them work, hold the pump in one hand and hit the pump with the palm of your other hand, let the pump run in vinegar for a day.

the model is the MCX300 internal. The MCE 300 is the hang on skimmer like 600.
But the two models (mcx and mce 300 ) have the same pump maxijet. Yesterday i tried many ways to make it start by itself but nothing worked. I have already spoken with deltec UK and we couldn't find any solution. Next help is from deltec US. Let see. tomorrow i will take it back to the store i bought it to check it with the salesman again and maybe we try another mcx just ti see if the problem is common for this model.,

Thanks for the clarification, that model came out just when Deltec was leaving the US, I would bring it back to the LFS they always complain that people buy from the internet and not them, so let them do the leg work.
