Do most ppl use these for their return?

or do you have yours plumbed/drilled in via a bulkhead?

I prefer using a bulkhead. Much cleaner looking.

Any problem with having a return bulkhead low in the tank? Will it effect output from pump with the higher water pressure being low in tank?

yeah there is. There will be times when you will want to turn your pumps off, and having the return low in the tank there will be back flow and could flood your sump.

If I am understanding what you are asking anyway.

So if the power goes out the water will flow back through the pump into the sump? I was thinking the pump would only spin one way and block any back flow. hmmm

A checkvalve in the return would solve a backflow issue.

Gravity. The tank would drain until the syphon is broken.

These fail and are not recommended.

You could also drill a small hole in the top of the return line, so if you were to lose power syphon would break.

i just installed 2 of those on my undrilled 75. i like them due to the fact i can adjust the water flow. i drilled 3 small holes in each of them about an inch down for my siphon break.
