New Corals

Since I'm new to this hobby, I wanted to ask what kind of Corals I would be able to keep in my new tank so I can start making a list.

I have a JBJ 28g Nano with 105W CF Lighting. I believe the size is 18x22x22 but I think that includes the back chambers as well.

Can anyone with a JBJ 28g Nano chime in on the actual tank dimensions without the chambers.

Thank You

if your new and just wantning to put some feelers out, i would get some softies.
any type zoanthid...kenya tree, xenia, mushrooms, ricordeas are nice,. if you want a little bit more of a chalenge, you might try some montipora or acropora for stony corals.

all the stuff i mentions, i have in my tank, and is doing great. im only 3 months in also.

So from what I have read I'm thinking I can have mostly softies and LPS. Would I be able to keep any SPS?

Thanks

Most soft corals, including polyps and mushrooms will do well under PC lighting. If you want to try some stony corals, LPS would do better than SPS in your tank set-up. Generally SPS corals need more intense lighting than LPS do.

I'm working on my second nano reef. It's been about 5-6 years since I broke down my previous tank. This one is a 29g biocube, also with PC lighting. I'm planning out my corals and I'm looking mostly at softies with one or two LPS high up in the tank.

SPS would not fair well under that lighting, but LPS and softies should be fine. Also, ensuring that the tank temp and water parameters are stable are going to be just as important as lighting.
