Peristaltic dosing pumps

I am in the market for two dosing pumps. They will be controlled by a Apex controller, so I don't need anything fancy, just a fixed rate pump. Bulk Reef Supply sells a two-part doser that is inexpensive ($80 ea) and has decent reviews. I don't like buying junk and replacing it a year or two later - will I be happy with these pumps, or should I put out a little extra money ($110 ea) and get the AquaMedic pump module?

IMO the Drews dosers from BRS have been the best. TBAquatics also sells an identical type pump for a similar price. I have owned a couple sets of these dosers and never had a problem with them.

BRS has separate listings for the "BRS 2 Part Doser" ($80) and "Drew's Doser" ($95), any difference?

The "drews" doser was their original one, then they came out with a different line of them. I used one of the BRS top off dosers similar to the BRS slower dosers and did not like it. I found it noisy and flimsy feeling, although noise would be lesswere it running slower. The Drews is as close to silent as can be and has 4 rollers as opposed to 2 on the BRS. The BRS does 1.1 mL/minute and the drews about 1.5

You can get the drews for $90 with a group buy.

TBAquatics also has them for $85 if you buy two-four. I have had both the drews and TBaquatics one.....they were identical in appearance and operation to me.

I have the BRS 1.1ml pump, and have been using it to dose vinegar for a couple of years now. Its been very quiet, and (touch wood) very reliable.

As Jim said, the BRS has 2 rollers and the Drew's has 4. I remember when BRS still had their sponsor forum here, they said they preferred the BRS to the Drew's for build quality and performance...but the cynic in me says the real reason may have been a better markup on the BRS. I know, I'm a terrible person.

I have been using Chinese 12v 45 ml per min dosing pumps for a while now and love them. They were $20 each, great deal and what isn't made in china? Check eBay if your interested.
