Glass Tank Issues?
Hi all,
Has anyone here had any problems with there glass tank leaking, breaking? I am going to order a 225 gallon 72x24x30 tank, just dont know which to get glass or acrylic. I hear the glass tanks start to leak over time, and even blowout completely??? Acrylic obviously scratches very easy. Just wondering if anyone experienced any leaking or total failure of a larger glass tank? Thanks, Mike |

I've kept fairly large glass tanks for many years without a problem. Acrylic seems to get scratched by just looking at it. Here in So Cal earthquakes and the stress they place on a tank start to become an issue with tanks of the size you are looking at and acrylic starts to look like a good move, but if you've ever kept an acrylic tank you know just how quick the scratches start to multiply no mater how careful you try to be.

I had a 75 that I gave to a friend that's close to 24 years old. Still full, been moved 3 times. No problems.
